Ingredients

  • 1 package At Home Mild Chicken Tenders Recipe
  • 2 tbsp. water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 package of chicken tenderloins (3-4 lbs. package)
  • Neutral vegetable oil, for pan frying

    PREPARATION

    Prepare

    • In a bowl, combine water (2 tbsp) and Seasoned Coating Mix to create a crumbly texture.
    • In another bowl, beat 1 egg.
    • Pat chicken tenderloins dry.

    Heat

    • Fill skillet halfway with oil and place over medium-high heat to reach 375° F. Oil is ready to use when a pinch of breading dropped in the oil sizzles without burning.

    Fry

    • Moisten chicken tenderloins thoroughly in egg wash and then the dry crumble mix, pressing firmly until fully coated.
    • Add chicken to hot oil and cook each side for 2-3 minutes, until golden brown.
    • Remove from pan when juices run clear and internal temperature is 165° F.

    To create craggy pockets of fried-ness, dribble a few tablespoons of buttermilk over your batter and rub it together to create small clumps.

    Don't Crowd the Fryer

    Don’t overcrowd your fryer! That will drop the temperature of the oil. If you know you’ll have a crowded pot, be sure to start a bit hotter than the desired fry temperature.
